Founded in 2022, Siblings of Murdered Siblings Inc (SOMS) is dedicated to making a profound impact on the lives of siblings, cousins, nieces, nephews, and all family members whose worlds have been shattered by violence. Our work is driven by unwavering passion and commitment to supporting those whose lives changed in an instant.

Our founder knows firsthand the unbearable pain of losing a child to violence. In 2010, she faced the tragic loss of her son and, amidst her grief, made a crucial decision: to channel her pain into helping others rather than succumb to self-destruction. She recognized the unique and often overlooked grief experienced by siblings and other family members, especially the younger generation, and committed herself to providing the support they need to rebuild their lives.

At SOMS, we offer ongoing emotional support to help survivors reconstruct their lives and achieve a healthy resolution. Our programs include Capacity Building, Education, Community Outreach, and Therapy, each designed to address the specific needs of those grieving the loss of a loved one to violence. Through workshops, support groups, and personalized counseling, we empower individuals with the tools and resources they need to navigate their grief journey.
